We hold our annual 'Student Dinner' the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, it is a great opportunity to take some time for yourself and get away from those hectic preparations for Thanksgiving.
Relax and enjoy yourself with some great food, good company and know that your attendance helps others.
Students from all our locations are invited to attend, and are more than welcome to bring family and friends with them. There is no age limit, nor number limit.
To us all our students are special and each one deserves to be recognized for their efforts in taking responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.
Each year we like to acknowledge those students whose efforts have stood out for whatever reason, I only wish that everyone could take home that extra recognition. Awards include; 'Student of the Year' for each established location, 'Most Enthusiastic Student', 'Most Determined to Succeed' and the 'Warren DuBois Memorial Award'.
Our 'Student Dinner' is also the kick-off for our Relay for Life fundraising efforts. Helping support efforts of the American Cancer Society and their goal of eliminating cancer. A small part of the cost of your dinner goes towards our efforts. Any money over the cost of the meal is donated.
We also hold a raffle (donations for which are gratefully accepted), buy your tickets and distribute them amongst the prizes you're after! Prizes are drawn after the meal, you must be present to win.
Pre-registering for the dinner is not required; however it does allow you to take advantage of a discount, gives us a good idea of numbers and orders which then allows the staff to serve us very quickly. If you cannot commit early, you can turn up on the day and still attend.
And a word of thanks to our host, Jack Island, who is very generous with his space, time and his efforts throughout the year in aid of Relay for Life. He is also a Tai Chi student, so it is nice to keep things 'in-house'.
